Eyebrows are big, thick and bold and choosing a product can be mind boggling! The bold look may not be everyone’s cup of tea so which is best: pencil vs pomade?
So what’s the difference?
Pencils will give a more natural look. Pomades can be used to give more definition and create a fuller brow. It totally comes down to preference and what look you like. I love a pomade but sometimes just apply a quick flick of a pencil or even an eye shadow for a soft look.
Today I’m showing you some pictures with no brows filled in and showing you the difference with some products I have been trying.
MAC pencil:
I recently purchased a MAC brow pencil. I got the shade Lingering which was for my kit and I wanted it for dark blondes/ medium Browns. This, I feel, would be too dark for blondes.I tried it on my own brows which are pretty dark and I nearly get away with it! I would probably need a shade darker but I like the texture and feel. You can use this to fill in sparse areas or do little strokes. This is €18 and I picked it up from Brown Thomas
NYX tame and frame:
I haven’t used this as much as the others but it is a smudge proof pomade. It can be used very lightly or apply heavier to give a stronger brow. You need to work quickly and it dries fast and a little goes a long way. I have the chocolate shade but it is available in 5 colours. Again this is a touch too light for me and didn’t fill in my gap as well as others. I will repurchase in a darker shade and can’t wait to try a few lighter ones on the right people. It’s a good product for 7.99 and I got mine at Cara pharmacy in Galway but it’s also available in Boots.
Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade:
Yes that is me kissing my pomade 😂 I love it so so much. Here I am wearing the dark brown. It fills all areas, a smidge is all you need and it blends so well. The winner for me. This is a creamy formula and stays put for the day giving a very defined brow. It is available in 11 shades and you can get yours for 17.80 on beautybay.com
My brows are dark naturally and I have one annoying gap on my right brow that needs filling. Always always use a spooly brush and brush product through to make it more natural.
Which do you think looks the best?
