For October we are going to do a Wednesday wisdom segment where we answer some questions about treatments in the salon.
Today it’s all about Lycon Waxing. (Head over to insta stories @jessiekessiebeauty to hear me chat about this too)
Why we choose Lycon at JOS:
Lycon waxes include a resin that is one of the strongest in the world, but remains so gentle it is safe to re-wax all areas. This means that Lycon wax can powerfully grip hair as short as 1mm right at the root, without tugging on the skin. A Pre-Waxing oil creates a barrier between the wax and the skin, prevent skin lifting, dragging or bruising.
Does it hurt:
Lycon makes waxing virtually pain free. For a first time waxer or someone who has a low pain threshold, this is the wax to try. It is amazing for sensitive areas, such as bikini or Hollywoods.
How to prepare pre wax:
Exfoliate the area to be waxed a few days prior to treatment and don’t be afraid to moisturise the areas also. Ensure hair is long enough for us to wax and as best you can avoid the razor!
Waxing gets easier each visit and shaving constantly in between appointments will disrupt the process.
Post treatment:
Avoid hot showers, swimming pools, saunas and tight clothes for 12-24 hours post waxing.
If you are prone to ingrown hairs let us know and we can apply a specific gel to help prevent them from occurring and give you advice for what to do at home.
Jess and Naomi have been both been trained with Lycon and salons cannot use this wax unless training is done. Naomi is our expert waxer at JOS and will ensure you receive a smooth, pain free experience at your next waxing appointment.
